Privacy Policy

This privacy policy governs your use of the software application AEPL ILM (“Application”) for mobile devices, created by the AEPL Development Team. The Application is a Centralized Control and Monitoring System (CCMS) & Individual Light Monitoring (ILM) suite that connects to your configured telemetry databases.

1. Information Collection and Use

User Provided Information

The Application obtains the information you provide when you log in. To use the Application, you must input your credentials (username and password) and server database settings. This information is stored securely on your device (using SharedPreferences) to facilitate persistent user sessions.

Location Information

The Application requires access to your mobile device’s geographic location (GPS) to calculate and display real-time directions and routes from your current location to the target Individual Light Monitoring (ILM) master controller and lamp devices. Location data is processed locally on the device and is not uploaded to our servers.

Database Connection settings

You provide database connection configurations (including server addresses, credentials, and ports). These settings are used solely to establish direct connections from your mobile device to your private MySQL telemetry server.

2. Permissions Required

  • Internet: Used to establish database connections to retrieve status reports, master grid lists, and telemetry updates.
  • Access Fine/Coarse Location: Used exclusively to plot map routes and provide directions from your current GPS location to physical street light assets.
  • Post Notifications: Used to alert you of critical street light events, such as Power Failures (ZV) or MCB Trips.
  • Receive Boot Completed: Used to resume telemetry checks when your device restarts.

3. Third-Party Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information or telemetry data to outside parties. All database interactions occur directly between your device and your configured database server.

4. Security

We value your trust in providing us your credentials and database server settings, thus we strive to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. Your login credentials are saved locally in the private sandbox directory of the application.
